R. Lynn Beckemeier


Lynn Beckemeier is the senior member of The Beckemeier Law Firm, LC, and he has over forty (40) years of experience representing individuals and businesses with their legal needs.  As a third generation lawyer, (Lynn’s grandfather, August C. Beckemeier was also an attorney) Lynn has encountered just about every kind of legal issue or problem that individuals and businesses might encounter in today’s fast-paced, rapidly changing society and not only advises clients but other attorneys drawing on his long experience in his primary practice areas of estate and business planning and the law of nonprofits and tax exempt organizations.

Lynn is a member or former member: The Missouri Bar; Member, Taxation Committee, General Practice Committee, Probate and Trust Section; The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Probate & Trust and General Practice Committees; The Estate Planning Council of St. Louis and the Christian Legal Society.

Education and Honors:

Lynn graduated from Washington University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and from St. Louis University Law School where he was awarded the degree of Juris Doctoris, cum laude in 1973

Associations and Areas of Public Service:

Lynn is a long-time member of the Estate Planning Council of St. Louis, the Christian Legal Society and on the advisory board of New Covenant Legal Services, a Christian legal aid organization, and had served as a Christian legal aid volunteer for over 30 years.  He was also a member of the board of directors of Friendship Villages of Sunset Hills and Chesterfield, Missouri, for 9 years and has been a director on the board of Mission: St. Louis (a Christian Community Development organization) and is a deacon at his church, the Journey Fellowship. He has also been a presenter and lecturer at various continuing education, community and church sponsored seminars on wills, trusts, estate and business planning.

James A. Beckemeier


Jim Beckemeier is a member with The Beckemeier Law Firm, LC. As a fourth generation lawyer, Jim understands the complex legal dynamics that individuals and businesses face in today’s ever changing environment, and works with his clients to provide competent and ethical advice to address each challenge and/or opportunity presented.

Bar Memberships:

Jim is licensed by the bar associations of the both the State of Missouri and the State of Illinois.

Education and Honors:

Jim graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia, cum lade, with a business degree emphasizing marketing.  While an undergrad at Mizzou, Jim was a member of the Honors College and the Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity.

After Jim completed his undergraduate degree, he stayed in Columbia and obtained a Juris Doctrate from the University of Missouri’s school of law.  Jim was a member of the Missouri Law Review while in law school.

Associations and Areas of Public Service:

Jim was a long time member of the Board of Directors of The Journey Fellowship, Inc., an interdenominational church with locations in Missouri and Illinois.

Jim is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Phi Kappa Theta of Columbia Alumni Association and is a member of the Christian Legal Society.

F. Shabnam Nouraie


Shabnam Nouraie is an Associate Attorney with The Beckemeier Law Firm, L.C. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, Shabnam worked as in-house counsel for a corporation in the financial services sector.  Working in a corporate environment, Shabnam gained an appreciation for the complicated legal challenges that confront businesses today and the importance of individualized legal solutions in the business realm.  Shabnam enjoys working with the firm’s individual clients as well, approaching each situation with a keen eye toward the unique challenges and opportunities presented.  Shabnam is passionate about providing each and every client with excellent representation and works hard to address the unique legal challenges they face with effective solutions.

Education and Honors:

Shabnam graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia, cum laude, with a degree in Journalism.

In 2011, she obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri School of Law and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution.  While in law school, Shabnam served as Senior Note and Comment Editor for the Journal of Dispute Resolution and as Vice President of the Student Bar Association.  In 2011, Shabnam received an honorable mention from the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel Mary Moers Wenig Student Writing Competition for her paper Out with the Old and In With the New: Comparing and Contrasting Trust Decanting Under State Statutory Law.

Associations and Areas of Public Service:

Shabnam is a member of the COCA Associate Board and serves as a volunteer with the County Older Residents Program (CORP), providing legal help to older, low-income residents of St. Louis County.

Caroline Johnson


Caroline Johnson is an Associate Attorney with The Beckemeier Law Firm. She joined the firm, first as a summer intern in 2016, and then as an attorney in 2017. Through her experience and training in tax law and real estate matters, Caroline can confront unique challenges in the fast-paced and ever changing legal field.

Caroline is licensed by the Missouri Bar.

Education and Honors:

Caroline graduated from Michigan State University in 2013 with a degree in both History and Political Science. While in undergrad Caroline was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She attended law school at the University of Missouri-Columbia and achieved both her J.D. and a Certificate in Taxation with an emphasis in Estate Planning. Caroline was an active member of the Tax & Transactional Law Society throughout law school.

Associations and Areas of Public Service:

Caroline volunteered for the Estate Planning Pro-Bono Clinic, which partnered with the Columbia Family Impact Center to provide free estate planning services for individuals in the Columbia area.
